Marble Cake

Marble cake – Fluffy, Light and Moist.

Ingredients
  • 200gm Self-Raising Flour
  • 160gm Butter Softened

  • 160gm Icing Sugar

  • 3 Eggs

  • Teaspoon Vanilla

  • 60ml Milk

  • Teaspoon Baking Powder

  • 8” Cake Tin

Step 1

Place softened butter and sugar into large mixing bowl.

Using a mixer, cream the butter until light and fluffy.  

Step 2

Add the eggs and vanilla to the cream mixture and combine together.

Add teaspoon of baking powder, flour and mix together.

Step 3

Finally, add the milk and mix till well incorporated into the mixture.

Step 4

Spoon three quarters of the mixture into a lined cake tin, leaving rest of the mixture in the bowl.  Add a few drops of colouring and stir together.

Then gently drop the coloured cake mixture over the cake tin.  Using a butter knife, swirl the mixture together with a zig-zag motion, around the cake tin.

Step 5

Bake in a preheated oven at 160C /Fan for 30 to 40 minutes.
