Chocolate Cake
I sincerely hope you would share the same passion as me!Chocolate sponge cake, sprinkled with chopped nuts.
Ingredients
- 125gm self-raising flour
- 3 large eggs
- 185gm softened butter
- 50gm cocoa powder
- 4gm vanilla extract
- 4gm baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 175gm caster sugar
Method
In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients together and mix for 2-3 minutes; long enough to make a smooth paste.
Line a 7” cake tin.
Spoon the mixture into the tin.
Sprinkle a few chopped nuts.
Bake for about 35-40 minutes in a 180°C preheated oven. Bake until well risen. The top should spring back when lightly touched with a fingertip.
Let the cake cool before serving.
