Soft Flat Bread

I sincerely hope you would share the same passion as me!

This bread is made with flour; mixed with water,  milk, or yogurt.

Can be baked or cooked on a griddle pan

Ingredients
  • 375gm Plain Flour

  • 200ml Warm Water

  • 7gm Dried Yeast

  • 7gm Salt

  • 10ml Honey or 7gm Sugar

  • 150gm Plain Yogurt

  • 50ml Oil

Step No 1

In a mixing bowl add the flour and salt.  Pour in the honey and the yogurt, sprinkle dried yeast.

Knead using the dough hook attachment, for at least 2 to 3 minutes.  Keep kneading for another 2 minutes.  Gradually pour in the warm water, little at a time.

Keep kneading until the dough is soft and elastic.

Transfer the dough into a proving bowl.  Cover with cling film.  Rest until doubled in size, about 1 to 2 hours.

Step No 2

Remove the cling film and tip the dough onto a floured surface and knead with your hands for a minute or two.

Step No 3

Divide the dough into two and knead each dough into an oblong shape.

Then divide each oblong dough into 8 portions, making a total of 16.

Roll each portion into a ball shape.

Cover and leave them to rest for 10 about minutes. This will help to achieve a softer and lighter texture.

Step No 4

Then flatten the balls into ¼” thick discs.

Rest for a further 10-15 minutes before cooking them.

Step No 5

Place the disc directly onto a hot griddle pan and cook for a couple of minutes until they puff up.

Then flip over and cook on the other side until well risen.

Tip onto a plate and serve.  You can also freeze them if you wish.
