Sausage Rolls
I sincerely hope you would share the same passion as me!Sausage roll is a savoury pastry snack.
Consists of meat, wrapped in a shortcrust or puffed pastry.
Ingredients
- 2 Short-Crust Pastry Sheets, ready rolled
- 6 Sausages, skinned
- 1 Egg, beaten
Step No 1
Take the skins off the sausages and retain the shape.
Lay the pastry sheet flat on a work surface.
Using a brush, egg wash the bottom edge of the pastry.
Step No 2
Position the sausage meat in the middle, covering the whole length of the pastry.
Fold the pastry over the sausage meat filling to enclose, so it meets the bottom egg-glazed edge together.
Step No 3
Crimp the edges with a fork to seal the pastry.
Brush the pastry all over with the remaining egg glaze
Step No 4
Use a knife to cut several slits in the top of the pastry to allow the steam to escape.
Transfer into a roasting tray lined with baking paper.
Step No 5
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°c fan.
Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes.
Until golden brown and cooked through in the middle.
Step No 6
Cut to size required.
Can be served hot or cold.
